THE ORGANIZATION

You Can Change, Inc., is a non-for-profit charitable corporation. It has received tax exempt status pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The overall goal:

You Can Change seeks to provide vulnerable youth with purpose driven programs/activities designed to foster their well-being, development and education.

MEET THE TEAM

Melvin T. Walters

Melvin T. Walters, the CEO and founder of You Can Change, Inc., has a long history of community involvement and is a graduate of the New York College of Health Professions.  Having retired, Mr. Walters now is working hard to develop a series of programs designed to help inner-city youths with the myriad of problems and obstacles they face.

Lynn Davis

Lynn Davis, secretary of You Can Change, Inc., is a retired Office Coordinator with 30 years of experience.   Lynn worked alongside teams of doctors and Nurses at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.  She started in the Ophthalmology department and retired from The Division of Substance Abuse, Psychiatry / Nursing department at the Montefiore Medical Center. Lynn was responsible for all administrative duties within the nursing department that consisted of three clinics employing forty-four nurses. She was also responsible for conducting drug tests and the distribution of medication to patients enrolled in the Methadone Medical Maintenance Program.

David Palmiro

David Palmiro will be the director of the apprentice programs.  Mr. Palmiro was a mechanical sanitary engineer (plumber) with the New York City Housing Authority for more than 25 years and is highly experienced.  He also worked for the Parks Department as a event coordinator.

Harold Miles

Harold Miles worked for Chase Manhattan Bank as a information techbology specialist in the banking investment division for 32 years and is now retired. He will act as our financial consultant.
